Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow

Every day, 24/7….our mind is filled with thoughts. Driving from one place to another multiple thoughts cross our mind. While waiting or working, our mind can be wandering from one thing to another. Awake while others sleep….thoughts cross our mind—thoughts of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
How easy it is for what happened yesterday to dominate our mind today. Getting passed our past can be a reoccurring problem. Remorse and regret can restrict and restrain us from enjoying what God has for us today. We can’t undo what has been done but, we can stand on God’s promise: “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away…” (2 Corinthians 5:17). I John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness”. It is imperative that we choose to see ourselves as God sees us: FORGIVEN! What Jesus did on the cross, covers all our yesterdays.
Then there’s “today”. At times,it may seem our today passes like a whirlwind. We rush through each today with rapid speed. But, today must not be just sandwiched in between yesterday and tomorrow…God has something to say about our “today”. Hebrews 13:8 says: “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, TODAY and forever”. Whatever the situation or circumstance today—Jesus who resides in our life, is the same Jesus that stopped storms, rebuked devils and demons and caused dead things to live again. Jesus is more than enough TODAY regardless of how dark or dismal the outlook may be. Heb 3:7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts”. The Holy Spirit can speak into our life every day. Sometimes we can be so consumed by what’s happening today that we miss what the Holy Spirit is saying to us about today. Are you in a situation today for which you see no solution? Today….the Holy Spirit can speak counsel, courage and confidence in your heart. You don’t have to wait until next Sunday or next month - we serve a God that speaks in the here and the now of life.
Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today AND TOMORROW. There are a lot we do not know about tomorrow. This is what we do know: God…our Heavenly Father…creator of this world, will be in all of our tomorrows. Jesus said, “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).
Regardless of what happens today or tomorrow…everything will work out for our good and God’s glory. “For we know that all things work together FOR GOOD to them who love God and are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28) Every need…EVERY NEED we will ever have in ALL of our tomorrows will be met. Philippians 4:19 says, “”My God shall supply ALL your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus”.
The bottom line is, we don’t have to live in regret of yesterday, the stress of today or the dread of tomorrow. Enjoy every moment….live life big - honoring God in all you do. And while you’re at it - enjoy a big bowl of Blue Bell ice cream.
