Trust In The Lord...

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted every family in America without respect to profession, position or possessions. Everything that could be shaken, has been shaken. Many businesses will not rebound from the economic shut down. Multiplied thousands of people are unsure or uncertain as to what’s next in the wake of the Corona Crisis. Not so, with God’s people. The fact is, the tragic events of the last several weeks have brought us back to the realization of these realities:

1) Our trust must be in God who never changes. Malachi 3:6 says: “I am the Lord and I change not.” Life changes, people change, our health changes but, God is forever the same! Trust in man, what man can do or what man can produce is a dangerous thing to do. Proverbs 29:25 says that “…fear of man is a SNARE but he who trusts in the Lord will be SAFE.” We are SAFE in God.

2) As believers, we build our lives and our families on the eternal Word of God. I Peter 1:23 says we have been born again through the Word of God that lives and abides FOREVER. This pandemic affords parents the opportunity to teach their children and grandchildren that we must build and base life on God and the unchanging truths of God’s Word. In Proverbs 14:26 it says: “When we trust in the Lord we have strong confidence and our children will have a place of refuge.

3) Prosperity and possessions can vanish in a moment. A few weeks ago, the economy was at an all-time high and then suddenly, the market plummeted and that which was of great value was gone. Those who trusted in their stocks, found that their lifetime of investments had vanished. In recent days, tornadoes have ripped across Mississippi leaving a path of death and destruction. Homes that that people spent a lifetime trying to pay off were lost in a matter of minutes. The fact is... this world is not our home: Jesus said: “Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God believe (trust) also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you so. I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am, there you may be also.” ( John 14:1-3). In the words of a songwriter:

This World Is Not My Home I’m Just Passing Through,

My Treasures Are Laid Up Somewhere Beyond The Blue,

The Angels Beckon Me From Heaven’s Open Door

And I Can’t Feel At Home, In This World Anymore!

4) This world can quickly and abruptly find itself in the very days that the Bible calls “the last days”. Sad to say, MANY professing Christians have been lulled to sleep by the comforts of life. This pandemic serves as a wake-up call for every believer to get serious with God. Jesus said in Matthew 24:44: Therefore be ye also ready for in such an hour that he think not the Son of Man cometh.” In other words, regardless of where you go to church, doctrine or denomination, LIVE LIFE RAPTURE READY!
