The Post Covid-19 - Pre-Rapture Church
Regardless of what name is on the church sign, every church has been greatly impacted by the crisis caused by the Corona Virus. The church, urban or rural, contemporary or traditional, large or small is now, no longer the church as we knew it. As “Shelter-In-Place” restrictions change and social distancing guidelines are altered, God’s Church finds itself at a critical crossroads:
Go back to the way it was or embrace the opportunity for change?
…If we go back to the way we were,
We will miss the opportunity to be what we could have been
and do what we could have done
and reach where we have never reached…
So, the question that must be answered is:
What Does The Post COVID19, Pre-Rapture Church Look Like?
It’s Mission Is the Mission of It’s Master.
The Mission of our Master is what formed and fashioned His ministry: “For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10). Everything Jesus did was about drawing people to God. And so it must be for the Post COVID-19, Pre-Rapture Church. Time is too short and Hell is too hot for the church to spend time, money and resources on that which is nice but, not necessary to the Mission.
It’s Message Is Determined by the Mission.
The message of the Church of Acts was powerful, plain and provocative… it was JESUS. It was said of the apostles: “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus.” Christ (Acts 5:42). It’s possible to preach and teach a lot of good things yet, never preach Jesus. The sinner’s looking to God as a friend and helper is not what saves the sinner… it is faith and trust in Jesus and His shed blood on the Cross as the payment for our sin. It’s “Gospel 101”. An unsaved world is dying for the greatest story ever told: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).
It’s Ministry Is Miraculous.
Like Jesus’ ministry, the Acts 2 Church was a church that was anointed and empowered by the Holy Spirit. The lost were saved, the sick were healed and the bound were set free! Allowing for the supernatural moving of God’s Spirit doesn’t repel the sinner….it draws the sinner to God.
Like Jesus, The Post Covid-19, Pre-Rapture Church cannot be contained, confined, defeated, deterred, silenced or stopped. God’s Church has been re-positioned for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the End-Time Harvest!
