Lessons From A Pandemic

For most people, a pandemic was something remote and far removed from everyday life, in Mississippi. Not so today. The tragic realities of sickness and death are no longer headlines from another country... they have now become headline news in Mississippi. So what is it that can be learned and must be learned as we begin to transition out of this COVID-19 pandemic?

God’s Church Can Not Be Stopped or Silenced. Economic collapse, cultural crisis nor pandemic panic can defeat God’s amazing Church! God’s people won’t give up, back up or shut up. The Word of God... the message of God’s redeeming love has exploded across social media. Ephesians 5:27 speaks of God’s Church as being a glorious Church....the very Bride of Christ.... THAT CHURCH is not a beat up, pushed down, gasping for breath Bride. The Voice of Victory in God’s Church is declaring and proclaiming the Good News that exposes the fake news and overcomes the bad news.

Families Are Drawing Close to God and Each Other. The going, going, going has STOPPED and for the first time, in a long time, the family is spending time together and doing things together instead of going places together. Families are having church in their house and having God conversations. If money, movies, sports, shopping, popularity and prominence is the glue for your family, you are using the wrong glue. Proverbs 24:3-4 says: By wisdom (Spiritual wisdom), a house is built. By understanding (understanding the transforming truths of God’s Word) it is established and by knowledge (the knowledge of God...knowing a God) its rooms are filled with pleasant and precious riches.

Men And Women of God Are Leading With Love and Wisdom. Men and women with the call of God on their lives have stepped up and stepped out in faith. These amazing leaders are not wimps.....they are workers and warriors....leading through uncharted waters. These leaders are leading at a new level of excellence—they are not insufficient, inferior or inadequate - they are God-Called and Spirit-Empowered men and women of God. In Ephesians 4, Paul describes these leaders as “gifts” to God’s Church - and they are.

Peace or Pandemic....Calm or Chaos....God Is Our Refuge. God, not government is our Refuge. Not companies or corporations… but, Christ is our Refuge. God… Jehovah God is our eternal Refuge; not prosperity, profits or properties. Psalms 46:1 says: “God is our refuge and strength, a very PRESENT help in time of trouble.”
