In Faith....2020!

Now, you and I find ourselves at that place at the end of the year, where we look back with an unmistakable realization of God’s presence, all the way through the days, weeks and months of this year. Perhaps there were surprises, disappointments, hurts, gains, losses, tears and laughter, successes and failures. Feelings must give way to faith as we stand on the premise of His Promises:

“For we know that all things work together for good to them who love God and are called according to His purpose.”

Rom. 8:28

“There is no temptation (test, trial or difficulty) taken you but such is common

to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what

you are able, but with the temptation (test, trial or difficulty) will also make a way

of escape that you may be able to bear it.”

I Cor. 10:13

Today, on December 30, though Christmas is past…. His name remains real to us regardless of our status, situation or circumstance. “Jesus”…there is something about that name that brings comfort, courage and confidence and contentment. In a matter of hours, we will cross the threshold of a New Year with Jesus the Savior in our lives. We have His assurance that He will never leave us or forsake us. We don’t know today what we are going to face in the tomorrows of 2020. It is, in faith, that we believe God to bless us with His favor in all we set our hands to do for Him. But for now, we look back with grateful hearts and realize how good God has been to each of us. His mercy has exceeded our merit, His forgiveness has exceeded our failures, His grace has exceeded has our grief, His provisions have exceeded our problems - what a good and gracious God we serve!!!

In these few days between Christmas and New Year’s Day, may we make it our resolve in the coming year to trust Him in our trials, wait for His wisdom, discern His direction and walk in His love.

May you and your family have a blessed New Year.
