FAITHFUL...

I would say that every person reading this devotion today, has found God to be forever faithful. In fact, everywhere we look we can see God’s faithfulness in our lives and in our family.

1. God Is Faithful To Forgive: “If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us

Our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9) Not one of us is perfect. On our best day, we---in ourselves and of ourselves- are far from righteous. God sees what others don’t see, and knows what others don’t know. Paul said of himself: “Oh wretched man that I am”. Aren’t you glad for God’s great grace? The promise is if we confess our sins God is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.

People may have a limit on forgiving, but not God. Perhaps you feel you failed beyond God’s willingness to forgive. This very moment, one prayer of confession, asking God to forgive, positions you to make a new start with God. People are fickle but, God is faithful! The devil is a liar…but, God is faithful.

2. God Is Faithful To Make A Way Of Escape From Temptation. “There is no temptation taken you but, such is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.” (I Cor. 10:13) So….what does that mean to us now, in the middle of a pandemic? To be tempted means we are presented with an opportunity to do something we want to do but, shouldn’t do. To be tempted also means we are presented with an opportunity to not do what we should do. The devil never stops tempting God’s people. The devil hasn’t social distanced himself from God’s people-especially those in leadership. But God is faithful! God is faithful to make a way of escape from every temptation. No matter how weak you feel or how strong the temptation—God is faithful to make a way out and away from that temptation. God doesn’t “snatch” us out of the situation but, He provides a way out. What is that way out? The Name Of Jesus… The Blood Of Jesus… The Word Of God… Pandemic or not—we don’t have to sin. Difficulty and adversity does not legitimize doing what we shouldn’t do and not doing what we should do. God Is Faithful…..to make a way of escape.

3. God Is Faithful To Do It: “Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it. (I Thess. 5:24) Has God called you? The truth is, God calls all of us to Him. He calls us out of sin, into salvation, out of darkness, into light, out of bondage, into liberty! There is also a literal call of God into ministry. Has God called you into ministry? Has He laid His Hand on your life and separated you for His Kingdom Purpose? If so…HE WILL DO IT! He will enable us to do what we could never do without Him. He will open doors no man can open and meet needs no man can meet….GOD IS FAITHFUL!

Friends and family may fail you, employers and employees may fail you, money may fail you, government may fail you---but GOD IS FAITHFUL AND He will be faithful no matter how dark or difficult things may get in this world. Don’t allow yourself to be distracted or defeated by what is happening around you…Keep your eyes on Jesus for He is FAITHFUL!
